THE SPIRIT OF GIVING. Local Cub Scouts went to work during the final weeks of November to make sure their neighbors could have a happier Thanksgiving. The boys stocked the shelves at the York Community Food Pantry to help meet the needs of families during the holiday season. HELPING HANDS. Tom Whalen, director of the York Community Food Pantry, accepts a check from Jim Hagar, Carolyn Weller, Dick Balkite and Ina Toth of Remax Realty. Mary Andrews, front, represented the York Community Services Association and the Village Quilters. The donation was the result of the raffle of a quilt made by the Village Quilters at Harvestfest and the funds were used to help defray the cost of turkeys for the annual Thanksgiving Baskets.
