YORK HARBOR - The York Art Association invites beginners and experienced artists to enroll in spring classes taught by award-winning artisans.

Spruce up your wardrobe and your home with your own jewelry, painted furniture and floor cloths. Do you have some lovely stones you would like to turn into a necklace, or a worn heirloom footstool that you would like to turn into a hand-painted treasure? Sign up for one of YAA's spring class offerings!

Floor Cloth Painting will be held Feb. 29 through March 28 on Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. Andrea Burzon of Willowby Wood will instruct in painting a 4-by-4-foot floor cloth, which can be used on the floor or as a wall hanging. Cost of class and materials, which will be provided by the instructor, is $125.

Painted Furniture will be held from March 3 to 31 on Monday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. Burzon will instruct in painting a small unfinished piece that has been sanded and is ready to be painted. Water-based paints and glazes will be used to create a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art.

If you bring your own piece to paint, the class is $95. If you don't have a piece, the instructor will supply one, and the cost of the class and one piece is $145.

Wire-weaving, a weekend workshop, will be held on March 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In this two-day workshop, you will explore the wonderful world of working with wire with Joy Raskin, an award-winning silversmith and jewelry maker. Working with copper and brass wire in many colors, you will wrap, coil, tinker, weave, twine, knit, crochet, braid, wrap stones, wire chains and more. The instructor will provide wire and hand tools.

The cost of with class, including the wire, is $125.
