The York High School Wildcats' varsity hockey team has made history, securing the Western Maine Class B Championship spot and holding the second place in the state. And, to top off their season, the team has been honored with awards from the Western Maine Class B Hockey Coaches Association, including "Coach of the Year" to Coach Michael Vessey, who is seen here with Coach Jim Powers presenting the "Evans Spear-Most Outstanding Player of the Year" award to Dan Powers.

History-making Wildcats take Western Maine title
In what was possibly the most dramatic third period of Class B hockey in this decade, the York High School Wildcats came storming back from a three-goal deficit and lit up six minutes of an unstoppable offensive assault on the Winslow net, tying the State Championship game at 3 all with 32 seconds left in regulation.

Hockey ‘Cats players and coach honored with top awards
The votes have been counted, and the York Wildcats' varsity hockey team has been honored among the 2007-08 Class B West League All-Stars as voted by the Western Maine Class B Hockey Coaches Association.

Another successful year for girls’ JV ice hockey
The York High School girls' junior varsity ice hockey team played well in a championship tournament at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham during the weekend of March 1.

Winning season for York Middle School girls’ hockey team
York Middle School girls' hockey finished out their regular season with a close 2-1 win against Nashoba Valley in a consolation game of the Bay State Girls' Hockey League.
