YORK - Ping Xiaofen, daughter of Ping Zhengxing and Li Miaoqin of Shanghai, China, was united in matrimony on March 9, 2008, to Michael Golden, son of Capt. and Mrs. Mark Golden, USN-retired, of Bloomsburg, and Joyce Golden of York.
The destination wedding featured a ceremony on the beach at the Anatara Resort, Koh Samui, Thailand. The Rev. P.M. Carter conducted the ceremony.
The bride is a director of Shanghai-based marketing and communications agency Adsmith International. She graduated from Shanghai University with a degree in international business and is a public relations specialist.
The groom is also a director, and the general manager and founder, of the same agency. He holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University in East Asian studies, attended Keio University in Tokyo, and earned an MBA from Haas Business School of the University of California, Berkeley.
The ceremony was attended on the bride's side by her cousins, Li Zhengyi and Li Zhengjun. The groom's parents attended, as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Golden of Sinapore, and some 30 friends of the newlyweds from Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada and the U.S.
After the ceremony, champagne and canapés were served on the beach, followed by a Thai buffet reception and a performance by traditional Thai dancers in the resort.
The newlyweds reside in Shanghai.
