YORK - Sen. Peter Bowman, D-Kittery, recently recognized several York High School students for athletic achievements at the Statehouse in Augusta.

Billy Gauthier, Chelsey Tewell and Regan Cleminson were honored in the senate with Legislative Sentiments sponsored by Bowman.

Gauthier was recognized for winning all three matches at the 125-pound weight level at the 2008 Class B State Championship

Chelsey Tewell was honored for winning back-to-back State Championships in the 55-meter hurdle and the 55-meter dash at the 2008 Girls Class B Track State Championship

Regan Cleminson was praised for winning the high jump at the 2008 Girls Class B Track State Championship

Bowman represents York County in Senate District 1, which includes the communities of Eliot, Kittery, Ogunquit, South Berwick and York. He is chair of the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee and serves as a member of the Insurance and Financial Services Committee.
