YORK - Local resident Lorilyn Barrett, a sales associate with Coldwell Banker Yorke Realty, was recently named the Number One Sales Associate in Closed Adjusted Gross Commission Income among more than 116,800 Coldwell Banker® sales associates in Maine as outlined by the Coldwell Banker Broker Council of Maine Awards criteria for 2007.
This designation award is based on agent production, not broker owner production.
"Lorilyn Barrett exemplifies the standards of excellence for which Coldwell Banker sales associates are known," noted Regional Director Bob Hegyi. "It is an honor to have her as a member of our network."
Along with this achievement, Barrett has also qualified to join the company's International President's Circle. This prestigious membership is only awarded to the top 3 percent of Coldwell Banker sales associates worldwide.
Barrett was presented with her award at the Coldwell Banker International Business Conference at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The annual event brought thousands of Coldwell Banker sales associates, brokers, managers and employees together for an intensive professional development program and awards ceremony.
"Lorilyn Barrett has been recognized with the President's Circle Award and state recognition because of her extraordinary contribution to Coldwell Banker and the real estate industry," stated Jim Gillespie, president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. "Her extensive knowledge of the Maine real estate market, together with her devotion to her clients, demonstrates all of the ideals of Coldwell Banker.
Barrett has more than 20 years of marketing and sales experience and combined with her area knowledge and exceptional client service skills, she continues to stay ahead of the competition. She is a valued and trusted REALTOR® and an excellent resource for buyers and sellers in the Southern Maine region.
She and her husband have lived in Southern Maine for the past 22 years while raising their five children. Her oldest daughter is serving in the United States Navy, while three other daughters are in college and her son attends York Middle School as a fifth-grade student.
Barrett is very active in civic organizations including her church and local school department and currently serves on the board of directors of York Youth Football as fundraising and event planning officer.
She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Maine Association of Realtors and the York County Board of Realtors. She is also an active member of the Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce and was past president of a York chapter of Business Network International, which she began in 2006. She also spent numerous years involved with the York Kiwanis where she helped raise thousands of dollars for local and international causes.
She has extensive knowledge of the Southern Maine coastline from Kittery to Kennebunkport and can provide a multitude of professional real estate services. While this was a year of adjustment for the real estate industry, 2007 was the fifth best year ever in home sales with more than 5.5 million sales, according to Coldwell Banker.
"It is a simple fact that people will continue to buy and sell homes, because our lifestyles encourage it," Barrett noted. "With homes sales in this region continuing to be strong, interest rates low and inventory plentiful, it is a great time to buy."
