OGUNQUIT - Young artists from Ogunquit, York and their surrounding communities will exhibit their artwork on May 9, 10 and 11 at The Barn Gallery.

This exhibition has been the traditional celebration of the year's work in area art classes for the last 30 years.

Art teachers from schools in Wells, Ogunquit, York, Kittery and South Berwick, as well as from Berwick Academy, will select individual and group student projects for the Annual Student Art Show.

The young artists express their abundant enthusiasm and energy for art in an exuberant choice of medium and subject.

The Barn Gallery is always filled to overflowing with imaginative paintings, photographs, collages, prints, sculpture and mixed media pieces.

Sponsored by the Ogunquit Women's Club again this year, the exhibition opens with a reception for students, parents and friends on May 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. Gallery hours are 1 to 4 p.m. on May 10 and May 11.

"The show is a riot of color, especially from the little ones and an impressive show of talent from all of the students. Actually it's a little scary seeing how really good some of the art is," noted Pat Mason of the Ogunquit Women's Club.

The Barn Gallery is located at Bourne Lane and Shore Road in Ogunquit and will open for the season on May 21 at 11 a.m.
