THE DOGS

 

Mavis

I am waiting for you. My name is Mavis. I am a five-year-old spayed female hound mix. Aside from my good looks, I am one of the smartest dogs at the shelter. Shh... Don't tell the others. One of the volunteers at the shelter is taking me to obedience classes, not to make me more obedient, but we both had Tuesday nights free and we enjoy each other's company. She's one of the people who tells me how smart I am and that I am a good girl. I am hound-appropriate in my behavior. I get too excited to live with small dogs and unfortunately cannot live with cats, but that is me being a hound. If you have a dog at home already, please bring him or her to the shelter so the staff can introduce us. I get along with some dogs. Kids are okay too; I prefer the 10-and-over crowd. Living in my kennel has been hard for me. I get anxious and show all my good qualities better outside my kennel. Please ask the staff to get me out for you and we can spend some quiet time together outside. I love people, and I'll count on seeing you soon.

 

THE CATS

 

Dutchess

Dutchess is a three-year-old spayed cat who enjoys spending her afternoons napping in a window, chasing toy mice and enjoying a chin rub now and then. Dutchess is a playful and affectionate cat. Her short black and white fur is easy to maintain and she does a wonderful job keeping it well groomed and shiny. This little gem will brighten your day and bring a smile to your face. Spotty and Pepper

Spotty is a seven-year-old, neutered male black and white domestic short haired cat and Pepper is a five-year-old neutered male mostly white domestic short haired cat with a bit of gray. These two came in together because their previous owners were moving. These two are best friends and couldn't bear being without one another. Because of this, they must be adopted together. They do well with other cats but would prefer a home with no dogs. They also do well with children of any age as well as adults. They both are just all around great little kitties who anxiously await their forever homes. Could your home be the one?

 

Regal

What a beauty Regal is. She came to us after being abandoned by her previous owners and would love to find a nice home to go to. Come down and visit with Regal today. This two-year-old is sure to make any family very happy for many years.

 

Rouge and Scarlett


These two lovely ladies are Rouge and Scarlett! They are five-year-old, spayed females who have beautiful, medium length black coats. They will both need brushings from time to time just to keep them looking beautiful and mat-free. Rouge and Scarlett would love to find a forever home that they could share. Come down and see Rouge and Scarlett. They can show you first hand what a great pair they are!

 

 

Whistle

This beautiful girl is Whistle, a three-year-old, spayed female who has a beautiful, medium length white coat. She may require a bit of grooming just to keep her coat beautiful and mat free. Brushing your new cat is a great way for the two of you to bond. Whistle would love nothing more than to go to her forever home. Come down and check this beautiful girl out. Max and Buddy


Meet Buddy and Max, who are one-year-old black gerbils looking for a home because their previous owner could no longer to care for them. Although gerbils are very easy to take care of, it's still a good idea to learn a little bit about gerbils before you bring your new pets home. Gerbils need appropriate bedding, food and exercise to be happy and healthy. These two are happiest together so plan to take both of them home if you come to AWS to visit them!
