Rudy is very shy at first with new people and new situations but, given some time he comes out of his shell and is following his special people around in no time. He will do just fine living with other dogs and cats but, we will not be asking Rudy to share his new home with any children. Come down and get to know this little guy today. My name is Kera and sometimes my family would call me Gumpa. I am a three-year-old spayed female greyhound mix. My family surrendered me for economic reasons. I am very smart and need someone to make me use my gray cells I LOVE to play Frisbee and tennis ball; always in an enclosed area as my sight hound genes do not allow me to run free. I am an AWS obedience graduate but sometimes I get myself in trouble when left alone in the house. With your clear and consistent boundary setting I am sure I will learn the house rules quickly. My prey drive is too much for any cat, but I get along with most dogs. If you have a dog already, please bring him or her to the shelter and the staff can introduce us. I am shy and cautious when meeting strangers, but with your help meeting anyone will become easier and easier for me. I am on the tall side and I run really fast. Kids over the age of 10 are my best match. Come to the shelter soon and take me out. I can show you some of my obedience moves!

Who could resist such a face? This nine-month-old German shepherd mix is Stein. He came to us as a stray from Saco and would love nothing more than to find a nice forever home to go to. Stein is smart as a whip and very willing to learn. A basic obedience class would be a perfect way for both Stein and his new owners to bond and learn. He is an energetic boy who will do just fine living with dog savvy cats, dogs and children over the age of 8. Come down and visit Stein today. His rough curly coat attracts your attention and when his one blue eye and one brown eye meet your eyes, he melts you! He's a great little dog with plenty of character and pizzazz. Though shy when first meeting new people, it doesn't take long for Tigger to warm up and become your pal. His cautious nature and anxiety around kids make him a perfect fit for an adult-only home. He finds his loved ones to be very special and cherishes every moment he spends with them, often snuggling up and enjoying a belly rub. Promising to be a big ball of love with plenty to go around, Tigger would like his new family to cherish him as the only pet. He can't wait to go for daily runs with new family members, as this is one of his favorite pastimes. Though he already knows how to sit, it would be his pleasure to attend obedience classes here at AWS with his new owner, strengthening their bond and building trust. He is a timid fellow looking for those special people who will give him the love and patience he needs as well as consistency and structure to ensure he will thrive and blossom in his new home, bringing years of laughter and fun.

This little rascal is Casey. He is a five-year-old, neutered, male, Jack Russell terrier who is patiently waiting for that special someone to come and scoop him up. He is an energetic and dynamic little guy who needs plenty of play time so that he can burn off some of the energy that he has an abundance of. Casey will do just fine living with certain dogs and children over the age of 10. We will not be asking Casey to share his home with any felines as they are a bit too much for him to handle. Casey would love to have some company so, come down and visit him today. He will surely be great fun and create lots of happy memories for one special family.
