WEST KENNEBUNK - Animal-lovers of all ages will find something special to do at the Animal Welfare Society.

On July 7, Summer Youth Workshops begin at the Animal Welfare Society on Holland Road in West Kennebunk. Workshops are held weekly, Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Youth Workshops for ages 7 to 9 will be held the weeks of July 7 and 14. Senior Workshops for ages 10 to 14 begin every Monday from July 21 to Aug. 18. For more information, call the AWS at 985-3244, Ext. 109.

A Bake Sale and Mobile Adoption Event at St. David s Budget Box and Anchor Fence, Route 1, in Kennebunk, will be held July 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On July 19, the AWS canines and the Mobile Adoption Team will be at Pet Quarters in Scarborough from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in honor of Doghouse Repair Month! Get your doghouse in move-in condition and take home an AWS shelter dog.

The AWS Mobile Adoption Team will also join Animal Medical Associates at the Summer Blast Yard Sale on July 19. For more, call Animal Medical Associates at 282-5151.

That same day, AWS will join in the 200th Birthday Celebration at the Alfred Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Alfred Village Green.

On July 26, join the Mobile Adoption Team and their special friends at The Atria in Kennebunk for a Christmas in July party, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The adoptable AWS dogs are already planning a Yuletide fashion show. In addition, there will be plenty of decorations, food and Santa will be there too. In a joint effort with all the elves at The Atria, Santa will be collecting donations for the shelter residents. And on July 27, motorcycle fans are invited to be a part of the 13th Annual Ride for the Animals Poker Run, sponsored by the North Hampton Seacoast Chapter of the Harley Owners Group to benefit Animal Welfare Society. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and Award Ceremonies begin at 3 p.m. Seacoast Harley Davidson is located on Route 1 in North Hampton, N.H.
