OGUNQUIT - Graduates from Ogunquit, Wells, York and Kennebunk can treat themselves to a favorite show at the Ogunquit Playhouse this summer.

The Wells High School Convocation Ceremony, honoring Wells and Ogunquit graduates, was held at the Ogunquit Playhouse on June 6 and at that time, as gift to the graduating class, the Ogunquit Playhouse gave each student a voucher good for one ticket to any show during the 2008 season. Vouchers were also distributed to Kennebunk and York seniors.

"It is part of our mission here at the Playhouse to foster appreciation of the arts - especially in younger generations. As these students are our community's future - it is our goal to help foster their love for the arts, one that they will carry with them throughout their lives," explained Ogunquit Playhouse Community Relations Manager Cheryl Farley.

As part of the Ogunquit Playhouse Education and Outreach efforts, the first ever, in the 76-year history of the Playhouse, school performance for middle and high school students are being presented, including recent performances of "Fiddler on the Roof" and upcoming student productions of "Les Misérables," scheduled for September and October.

Farley noted there are many other opportunities for young audiences to experience live theatre this season. The playhouse will present Disney's "High School Musical" in special weekend matinees once each month through September. The Children's Theatre lineup includes "Willy Wonka Junior," "Fairy Houses the Musical," "Treasure Island" and Disney's "Sleeping Beauty."
