YORK HARBOR - The sparkling, refurbished, renovated Stage Neck Inn is reopening for business.
Many area residents, especially those living near the spectacular York Harbor facility, are delighted to have one of their favorite dining and meeting places again available to them. One of the pleasures of dining out in York has been to sit in one of this lovely inn's attractive places - its gracious Harbor Porches Dining Room, its intimate Sandpiper Bar and Grill and adjacent charming outdoor covered patio - enjoying the sweeping ocean vista while meeting friends and relaxing.
Stage Neck Inn General Manager Phoebe Pressey commented, "It's a great pleasure to open up these doors again to our beautiful inn. All of us cannot wait to greet our guests. Our opening event is something we've been waiting for too long - for six months now. Everything is just so pristine, so new. We have newly refurbished guest rooms, a new banquet room. ... The lobby is all new, with new ceilings, completely new furniture, new carpet in the hallways. There is the addition of a spa with a manicure-pedicure room and two massage rooms where we are offering full service pedicures and manicures."
Pressey continued, "There will also be new lunch and dinner menus. The Stage Neck Inn chefs have been busy creating and preparing some wonderful new food items."
There has been a change, too, commented Pressey, in the concept of the dining experience, giving more variety to visitors and residents regardless of where they choose to dine.
"Beginning at 6 p.m., we will be offering one menu in both the Harbor Porches Dining Room and in the Sandpiper Bar and Grill. Previously, we had two separate menus. Now, the menus will be combined into one with wonderful new appetizer and tapas items, along with the local fare, which has always been popular with our guests. There will be new small plates such as Maine Jonah crab cakes, native salt cod three ways, roasted summer vegetable salad, heirloom tomato and seafood stew. Also, we're doing our own house-marinated steaks and chops."
The official opening was scheduled for Friday, June 27, at lunchtime. Weather permitting, the screened-in, covered patio will be available.
"We're opening for a full hotel this weekend and welcoming our returning guests," Pressey said. "We're also looking forward to a very busy summer."
