
TOURNAMENT TEAM. Seacoast United's U-16 soccer team, which includes members from the York region, recently made it to the finals of the Region 1 Tournament of the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship Series, a first for a Seacoast United girls' soccer team.

ALL STAR. York's Jimmy Kennedy recently competed in the Maine East-West Underclassmen All-Star Game for classes A, B and C from all over Maine. Kennedy was the only player selected south of Scarborough. The West team, in front of 20-some college coaches, defeated the East by a score of 11 to 7. Kennedy, a right-handed pitcher, was one of nine West pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts. Kennedy allowed no hits in his one-inning appearance. During the regular season Kennedy had a 7-2 record for the York High School Wildcats and was selected to the First Team, All-Conference Team as a junior. He currently is playing for the Wells-York Alfredo's American Legion Team, which is currently 7-0 and he has compiled a 3-0 record.

Although the Second Annual Dockside Striper Tournament began with wild weather, it didn't dampen the zeal of its fishermen or the success of the event.
