    GREAT GRANTS
The Highland Farm preservation effort and a working waterfront access plan are now much closer to coming to fruition, thanks to two state grants announced July 8.

    THE NEXT STEP
Members of York's Think Again met recently with a representative of the Army Corps of Engineers to discuss the Maine Turnpike Authority's efforts to construct a new toll plaza in town. For Think Again, as well as local officials and thousands of local residents who cast their ballots at the townwide vote in May, the consensus is the plaza does not need to be replaced; it should be repaired and remain right where it is.

    PICTURE PERFECT
This edition's installment of York Corner offers a look back in time at just a few of the places in York Village, York Beach, York Harbor and Cape Neddick that inspired the postcards of the past.

    SOUTHERN MAINE CURRENTS
With oil and gas prices continuing to climb, area outreach organizations are bracing for what they fear will be a very difficult winter in the months ahead.
