Article Image PUSHING THE PALETTE. The Beth Ellis Cove Gallery, located in Ogunquit's Perkins Cove, presents "Pushing the Palette," beginning with an opening reception on Aug. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. and continuing through Aug. 16. Accomplished plein-air artist Beth Ellis paints in the old school style of many of the masters, and her contemporary translation produces paintings that are beautifully designed and full of color. This show features popular shoreline scenes through the eyes of a colorist. Ellis' original oil paintings are painted on location in the Wells-Ogunquit area, such as "Harbor Roses" from Wells Harbor, pictured here. The opening reception promises an evening of exciting artwork, savory refreshments and live entertainment at the Beth Ellis Cove Gallery. The Beth Ellis Cove Gallery is located above Doc Square Clothiers and is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Original oil paintings and fine reproductions are available for purchase.
