KITTERY POINT - The Museums of Old York's 19^th Decorator Show House is now open to the public at The Ledges, nestled in the heavily forested areas of Gerrish Island near Chauncey Creek.

This shingle-style Queen Anne home, built around 1887, features unique interior and exterior spaces - including a private beach overlooking the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, large rooms, six fireplaces, window seats and a water view in most rooms. These stunning spaces have been brought to life by an array of artists, decorators and designers from the local area and beyond.

Designers from Maine include Judy and David Brown of Cottage Home in Cape Neddick; Valerie Jorgensen of V. Jorgensen Design in Wells; Barbara D. Heintz, an artist in York Harbor; Annamarie Eggert, an artist in York; Patty Ritzo, an artist in Kingfield; Marcye Philbrook of Marcye Philbrook Design Studio in Kittery; Anne Cowenhoven of Accent & Design in York; Jacquelyn Nooney of JNL, Inc., in Eliot, and Tom Dunn and Jenn Spencer of Stoney Brook Landscaping in York.

Other designers include Frank D. Hodge of F.D. Hodge Interiors in Boston, Mass., David Cyr of DMC Interiors of North Andover, Mass., as well as Sandra M. Biondo of Sandra M. Biondo Interiors in Peabody, Mass., and Barbara Vaughn of American Traditions in Hampton Falls, N.H., Joyce Jordan of Joyce Jordan Interiors in Hampton Falls, N.H., Jay Goldsmith of Goldsmith Photography in Portsmouth, N.H., Stacey Smith of Finnian's Moon in Rye, N.H., Kate Hobbs of Kate Hobbs Interior Design in New Castle, N.H., Michaele Boehm and Kacey Graham of Boehm Graham in Bedford, N.H., and Christine McGill of Christine's Crossing in Rye, N.H.

Breathe in the salty summer air and enjoy the respite The Ledges offers at 36 Pocahontas Road in Kittery Point on Mondays and Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays until 7 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m., through Aug. 16. Show House admission is $20.
