GOLFER OF THE WEEK. York's own Andy LeConte, a Saint Joseph's College senior golfer, has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week. LeConte was the Monks' top finisher in the Bowdoin College Invitational, played at the Brunswick Golf Club on Sept. 13 and 14, with a two-round score of 165 (83, 82) to place 29
th overall at the event. The SJC golfers will compete in the State of Maine Championship on Sept. 19 and 20, which will be played at the Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro.

After the first week in the regular season, York High School athletic teams have seen a variety of results.
On Sept. 12, the York Wildcats ousted the visiting Poland Knights by a final score of 39-13.
The York Junior Wildcats had sweet revenge over the Red Storm of Scarborough at its recent game.
York Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registration for the following program.
