YORK - This year's community bonfire, sponsored by the local business Graystone Builders, raised over $5,500 for York Community Service Association's "Warm Hearts, Warm Homes" heating assistance program.

Walter Woods of Graystone Builders and Kim Vieira of Kennebunk Savings Bank presented checks totaling $5,504.00 to York Community Service Association Director Lorna Ryan following the event, which is held annually on Labor Day weekend at Long Sands Beach to raise funds for charitable causes. This year, Woods chose YCSA as the beneficiary.

Ryan noted that York Community Service would like to extend its gratitude to Woods and his staff and family for all their hard work holding this event, to Kennebunk Savings Bank and Harvey Industries for their generous contributions, and to the many local residents and businesses that participated and contributed to this successful event.
