YORK - On Oct. 5, the York Youth Football Blue Pee Wee A and B teams hosted Noble 2 at the York Middle School.

The Blue B Wildcat team fell 0-6 but the Blue A squad paid back the favor by shutting out Noble 2 with a score of 22-0.

In the initial B game, Noble held York to 95 yards of total gains, even though York had strong running performances by Reid Hogan, Spencer Cribby, and Trevor Martin.  Ian Hovde caught a 20 yard pass from Martin as well, however York Blue B could not reach the Noble end zone that morning. Defensively, York played a strong game, only giving up one touchdown run to Noble. Leading York in tackles with 4 each was William Pratt, Ian Morrison and Richard Greenwood, with Greenwood often deeply penetrating the Noble lines. Logging 3 tackles each were Cribby, Hogan and quarterback Trevor Labonte, with Labonte preventing two more Noble touchdowns by driving the breakaway runner out of bounds in each instance.

In the second A team game, York's Kevin McKenna dominated the running offense carrying 11 times for a total of 163 yards, including two 30 yd touchdown runs.  Quarterback Dan Bock brought in a two point conversion himself, and later completed a 15 yard pass to Zack Gauthier for another successful York conversion.  Gauthier later scored the third York touchdown with a 35 yard dash into the end zone.  Also making gains on the ground for York were Cribby, Collin Torres and Matt Pratt, with Pratt later completing the game as York's second A team quarterback on the day.

Defensively, York B had Noble's number all morning, not allowing a single point for the visiting team.  The York defensive line was a collective force with more gang tackles than single or double takedowns. Collin Torres led with 6 solo tackles and Alec Steffenberg had 5 lone takedowns, including a pair of quarterback sacks that each forced Noble to turn over the ball on downs. York's Bock and Colby Pidgeon had 4 tackles each, and even though Zach Handley and Brendan Carney had 3 solo tackles apiece, they both were in almost every gang tackle play that York brought against Noble.  Also part of the York defensive line making big plays were Richard Greenwood,  Hovde, Keelan Hynes, Rex Brockelman and McKenna.

Earlier this season, York Gray B team beat Marshwood 12-0 to advance to 2-0 on the season.

The B team offense was lead by Liam Boner who scored the two touchdowns with help from Mack Kawczynski, Trevor Martin, and Charlie Leroux.  The defense had another outstanding game holding their opponents to 0 points.  The defense was lead by Connor Elsemore with 6 tackles, Tyler Hudson, Christopher Chalande, Ben Finitz, Joshua Smith, Drew Merritt, Matthew Robidoux, Drew Monteith, and Reed LaBossiere supplied the Wildcat attack.

York Gray A team starts strong season 2-0.  The York A team brought their A game to Marshwood on Sunday beating the strong Little Hawks 16-8.  The York running game was sparked by Jordan Pidgeon, Jimmy Orso, and Cullen McCarty. McCarty had a 60 yard run in the 1st half  A Cole Merritt/ Connell Anderson throwing combination to Matt Cusak gained 30 yards and set up another Orso TD.   The York offensive and defensive line of Forrest Kelly, Kevin Barrett, Dante Nieves, Jake DellaPasqua, Luke Mantell and Patrick Hannigan helped lead the Grey team to victory.  Strong defensive play from Mark MacGlashing, Liam Boner, Christopher Chalande, Cusak, and Barrett held the Little Hawks to one touchdown that came in the last minute of the game.
